We champion education, scientific inquiry/breakthrough, advocacy, and policy reform, aiming to advance the health and wellness of North Carolinians.

Who We Are

Founded in 2024, NC Obesity Society is a not-for-profit professional and civic membership organization, dedicated to promoting and expanding the practice of obesity medicine in North Carolina.

Our Goal

Our goal is to educate North Carolinians about obesity as a disease and advocate for initiatives that support caring for patients who are affected by the disease of obesity. NC Obesity Society aims to reduce stigma and bias associated with obesity, solidifying its recognition as a chronic disease.

What We Do

NC Obesity Society provides opportunities for networking, sharing best practices, and educating the medical community and the public about the disease of obesity.
