🩺 Regional Medical Director – Blue Sky MD

 Blue Sky MD is a leading provider of evidence-based medical weight loss services across North Carolina. We are committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care that empowers individuals to achieve sustainable health outcomes. 

  • Location: Charlotte, NC (with regional travel to Winston-Salem and Greensboro)                                   
  • Schedule: Full-time (4.5-day equivalent: 4 days clinical + ½ day administrative/travel)           
  • Compensation: Competitive salary with performance-based incentives                                              
  • Employment Type: W-2

 

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Regional Medical Director to oversee clinical operations across our Charlotte, Winston-Salem, and Greensboro locations. This role combines 4 days of direct patient care per week with 0.5 day of dedicated time for regional travel and supervision of mid-level providers.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Leadership: Provide patient-centered care in the Charlotte clinic 4 days per week, focused on metabolic health, weight loss, and wellness.
  • Provider Supervision (0.5 day/week): Supervise and mentor mid-level providers (NPs and PAs), providing oversight and clinical support to ensure consistency and quality of care across all sites.
  • Regional Travel (0.5 day/week): Make regular visits to our Winston-Salem and Greensboro offices to support teams, perform audits, and foster a cohesive regional clinical culture.
  • Quality Oversight: Monitor clinical performance metrics, ensure evidence-based practices, and participate in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Protocol & Compliance: Assist with the development and implementation of medical protocols; ensure compliance with state, federal, and organizational standards.


Qualifications

  • Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted medical license in North Carolina.
  • Board Certification: Family Medicine (required) or Internal Medicine (required)
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in primary care or a related outpatient setting, medical bariatric experience a plus but not necessary
  • Leadership: Experience managing or supervising clinical teams strongly preferred.
  • Travel: Comfortable with regional travel (1–2 days/month, reimbursed).


Schedule and Workload Summary

  • 4 days/week direct patient care (Charlotte)
  • 0.5 day/week administrative time for:
    • Clinical team supervision
    • Regional leadership meetings
    • On-site support at Winston-Salem and Greensboro (1–2x/month)
    • Provider performance reviews and mentorship
